Poem Review: In this era of modern/post modern literature, it is refreshing to see an old fashioned poem--a poem which rhymes. Moreover, I always have a soft side to creative art targeted for childrens [1].
Our childrens are fascinated by modern tools such as trucks/diggers, but they still need age old "twinkle twinkle" [2] to to satisfy their aesthetic requirements. Hence such old style poems are appropriate for them and I believe will be highly appreciated.
The author also shows that he is technically savvy by using devnagri font instead of a lay-man's Latinized Hindi.
-----------------------------------
[1] First coined by Goerge W. Bush. [2] Reportedly composed by Mozart in his early years.
:) in a few months, I hope to write the reviews in Francais.
"zuku zuku zuku zuku ageena gaadi dhurancha resha hawet zaadi palti zalde pahuya mama cha gavala jauya"
TRANSLATION .. "zuku zuku zuku zuku railgadi dhuanon ki laqeeren haava mein chodti bhagte pedon ko dekhenge mama ke gaon ko jaenge"
But this time around this poem was composed for a 3 yr old boy born and brought up in the US.
He will be flying from Delhi to Pune in an Air Deccan flight.
Hence the age old fantasies of watching a steam engine run through the country side cannot relate with this situation.
It was necessary to give a touch of 21st century American. I wanted to use the words "butter chicken" instead of "bread aur makhkhan", but the later suits perfectly in the overall scene.
CRAP! there are other readers too... I thought I was the only one. I need to behave in my future comments :)
I was not kidding about the modern poems. I have a friend here who is a published poet. Her poems are really deep in their vision and imagination, but the only way to know that they are not prose is by looking at their size.
