challenging the supreme

BYPASS THE ICC
The matters of racism have risen time and again but the ICC has never taken serious thought into it.ICC are the main culprits in racism.Almost all match referees are biased. the decision go in favor of the whites.I am surprised why Ranatunga is still silent. He is the one who walked off when murli was no balled. Jumbo could have done that too.Rashid Latif once grounded the ball and appeasled. He was banned my match referee Mike Procter. Why wasn't ricky poning given the same treatment. Its clear how the ICC workes. Now I have an idea.More than 70% of the ICC income comes from the subcontinent.Captains like Ranatunga, Inzamam and Ganguly have taken firm steps against the ICC in the pastIf the icc is taking us for granted then we must by pass the ICCWe can have our matches under Asian Cricket Council. We have the best teams in the world. India Pak and SL. Bangladesh is an emerging team. The best cricket lies in the subcontinent.we can develop other teams better than the ICC.We do not need the ICCWe can have the best of cricket. and wont need to suffer the bullish attitude of ICC.

Getting out of ICC for this incident would be a kneejerk response I guess.

The complaints most of the times are against umpires and the match referees. These folks are not sacrosanct as ICC deems them to. They should be accountable for their decisions, and actions. If a player makes mistake he is dropped, if an umpire makes a mistake he cannot be questioned at all. Which is ridiculous. For example Jaffer made a mistake in the first innings, and umpire in the second. The result is that it is Jaffer solely who will be dropped from the next test.

For the last test, the umpires should be fined large portion of their match fees (all three of them). Mike Proctor most likely didn't have any evidence against Bhajji before pronouncing him guilty, so his conduct should be investigated and removed from the match referee position for future. May be retired judges should hand out these decisions assisted by cricketers, rather than cricketers assisted by lawyers.

About ponting's catch, I think that was a human error, though his bragging that "it was 100% legitimate catch" was not a human error but pure arrogance and spoilt child effect. Dhoni did something similar last year and he wasn't punished. Latif's case was completely blatant cheating (he picked it up from ground after he saw it rolling), hence he was banned. This does show that Ponting and other fielders can make mistakes while claiming catches, so their words must not be taken as the final word when they have something to gain from it.

The CA/ICC should warn aussies to stop sledging etc. If they are as good as they claim they should have enough firepower to get the other teams out without resorting to their "mental games". "Saying this is normal in our part of world" is not a good excuse at all. You don't see Federer sledging Nadal to get a point, why should this be "part and parcel of the game" as they claim it. If this is part and parcel of the game, then any kind of verbal assault should be, whether racist or not. And the Asian block themselves as been receiving racist assaults for a long long time from the aussies and the english, why is this a big deal when they are the target?

It's not as if everything is rosy in ACC itself. India has long complained against Pakistani umpires for giving lbws generously. Bangladesh has complained against India for not letting them tour India since they became a test nation. So this solution may pan out similar to what ICC is right now.

I think this whole national team concept should be scrapped, and something like the football club format should be adopted. Then the national jingoism/racism etc. will all go away. And no team can claim "cultural differences" to validate their actions. This will boil down to just cricket talent and competing on a fair field. Plus many more people will get to play, compared to the 100 that get to play for their national teams now. So lets expand IPL to tests and ODIs, and just get some proper cricket.

huh.. that was a long comment. I guess I am as upset as the rest of the guys. And I didn't even start on how Ponting keeps saying nothing was wrong out there. And only thing that was wrong was fixed by Bhajji getting the ban :)

it was a bit embarrising to have a comment biggger than the blog.

However, The points made are perfect.

and here is where ICC is again a failure.

cricket needs to be globalised by encouraging 1st class games.

world cups and mini world cups and T20 championship may not always bring the best game.
